No. 1118
One Egg Fiammata freehand with gold band.
Weight: g / ounces
Tobacco chamber:
1.3" x 0.9" dia (32mm x 32mm dia)
A real collector's piece, this pipe is breathtakingly beautiful.
It shows lovely straightgrain on the bowl and has solid birdseye all
across the rim. But the real beauty of this pipe is down to
Massimo's sympathetic carving which has, as usual, produced a true work of
art. This pipe is embellished with a well-deserved gold band and is
presented in a hinged casket.

No. 1112
Crossgrain Birdseye long Lovat - graded One Egg
Weight: 61g / 2.1 ounces
Tobacco chamber:
1.6" x 0.8" dia (40mm x 20mm dia)
This longshank crossgrain Lovat has some of the tightest birdseye grain
that I have seen in a long time. The base of the pipe is flat,
enabling it to "sit up" - helping to avoid your spilling ashes
on the table-cloth:-) If you like your pipes long and covered in
birdseye, then this is the pipe for you. shank

No. 1116
Freehand with double silver military mount - graded Two Eggs
Weight: 48g / 1.6 ounces
Tobacco chamber:
1.1" x 0.8" dia (28mm x 20mm dia)
You can always rely on Massimo to come up with pipe shapes that are
unusual - an beautiful. This ovoid pipe could be described as
"half an egg" - is this a reflection on Massimo's affection for
all things avian, I wonder?

No. 1115
Apple with silver military mount and silver band- graded Two Eggs
Weight: g / ounces
Tobacco chamber:
1.5" x 0.8" dia (38mm x 20mm dia)
The grain on this pipe is quite remarkable - birdseye at the foot of
the bowl evolves into straightgrain around the lower half of the bowl
before reverting to birdseye on the upper half of the bowl. The pipe
is enhanced by a flush fitting military mount on the shank and a rounded
silver ring on the stem. Charming!

No. 765
"Nirvana" freehand with horn extension.
Weight: 78g / 2.6 ounces
Tobacco chamber:
2.1" x 0.85" dia (53mm x 21mm dia)
"Nirvana" is the name that L'anatra give to pipes that are
more than usually extravagant in their design. I think this one
qualifies! The D-shaped bowl displays superb swirling
flamegrain around the curve with immaculate birdseye on the
"flat" side.
The goose-neck horn extension, ending in a turned briar button add further
"extravagance" and are a tribute to L'anatra craftsmanship.
