No. 845 This is an incredibly rare pipe - a Fiammata 3-Note Melos, the only one
ever made! I am confident that you will never see another Melos as good as this one.

No. 556 Quarter-bent Two-Note "Fiammata". Weight g/ ounces Tobacco Chamber: " x 0." dia (mm x mm dia) A beautifully balanced, close-grained, yet very lightweight pipe, featuring a densely packed 360º birdseye rim and strikingly well defined grain all around the bowl. The tobacco chamber measures 9/16" (22mm) diameter and more than 1½" (41mm) deep

No. 954 One-Note "Fiammata" Volcano Weight 75g / 1.6 ounces Tobacco Chamber: 1.8" x 0.9" dia (44mm x 22mm dia) A remarkable example of the pipe-makers art. Note how the direction of the grain is echoed by the shape of the bowl - this is a perfect example of the shape of a pipe is dictated by "following the grain". The sides display unbroken straightgrain, whilst the base is 100% birdseye. This pipe is perfectly balanced. It will sit - and gently rock - on its curved base. Well worthy of pride of place in any high-grade collection. £ |
